Nine Films To Compete For Best Foreign Film Oscar

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science have revealed the list of films competing for its Best Foreign Film Oscar award.

The list includes the Dutch film “Accused” by director Paula van der Oest, the Georgian “Corn Island” by George Ovashvili, the Argentinian “ Wild Tales” by Damian Szifron, the Estonian “ Tangerines” by Zaza Urushadze, the Mauritanian “ Timbuktu” by Abderrahmane Sissako, the Polish “ Ida” by Pawel Pwlikowski, the Venezuelan “The Liberator” by Alberto Arvelo, the Russian “ Leviathan” by Andrey Zvyagintsev, and the Swedish film “ Force Majeure” by Ruben Ostlund.

The nine-film list will be narrowed down to only five, which will be announced on the 15th of January. The 87th Oscars awards ceremony will take place on the 22nd of February on the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
