An Egyptian author, historian, and novelist, born on May 10, 1921. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1939. He worked as a teacher of military tactics and weapons at the Infantry School and the Military Academy. He joined the Free Officers Movement in 1950 and participated in the July Revolution of 1952 in Egypt and wrote the revolution’s first statement. He was assigned to work as a military attaché to Egypt between 1952 and 1957 in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq and the governor of Menoufia between 1965 and 1968. He wrote several books about the July Revolution, and he was called the historian of the revolution. He is known for the films Sunset and Sunrise, and And the Third One Is Satan.
