An Egyptian actress of Lebanese descent. She was born to a Lebanese father and a Spanish Jewish mother. She worked in theater and cinema since the 1940s, as she made her stage debut opposite actor Naguib El Rihani. She also appeared in films, such as Passion and Revenge, and The Five Pounds. She married the art critic Abdel Fattah El Baroudi, as she had announced her conversion to Islam in 1960.
