Ali El Kassar, the leader of the comic musical theatre. He was born on the 13th of June 1887 in "El Sayeda Zaynab" district. He has begun his career on 1908 by composing the first theater group""Dar El Tamseil Al Zenieby" in addition to a band named after him and Moustafa Amin in...Read more 1916 in Casio Di Bary theatre- Emad El Din Street. On 6th of January 1919 he moved with his band to El Magestik theatre in order to present the best comic plays at that time with no competitor in spite of facing many trouble and challenges. In 1925 the two partners split apart leading El Kassar to carry alone the responsibility of his band till 1939. During this period he witnessed some ups and downs. He kept on presenting a new play each three months in summer and winter in addition to eleven concerts day and night with non stop. His plays were written by famous writers like Amin Sebky, Badee Khairy, Hamed El Sayed and others. Moreover he traveled with his group to many Arab countries to present their art and presented more than 200 operettas. El Kassar presented the character of "Othman Abdel Baset" as the symbol of the People's hero on stage. Because of the domination of cinemas at this period and his conflict with Coustty the owner of "El Magestik" El Kassar got tired of finding another stage for his bang and In 1950 , he dissolute his group. Afterwards, the director and producer "Tugo Mesrahy" has used the fame of Othman Abdel Baset" and transferred it into about 9 TV movies where there was no place for the character of the servant or the concierge.
