A writer and producer, born on April 17, 1917, and died on April 29, 1980. Before WWII, he studied global economy in Britain and as a result of the outbreak of the war he returned to Cairo, then traveled with Hossam El Din Mostafa to the USA to study film and obtain a master's degree. He was one the founders of Studio Misr with Talaat Harb, and a pioneer of Egyptian cinema, then worked as dean of the High Cinema Institute. Among his movies: The Fire of Longing (1970), Al-Shaimaa (1972), and Night and Bars (1973).
