Iraqi poet and novelist, born to a Jewish family in Hillah, Iraq in 1904. He had to leave Iraq in 1971 due to persecution by the Saddam Hussein regime of him and all the Iraqi Jews left in Iraq. He went to England, then to Israel, where he died in 1984.
