Mohamed Bakri is a palestinian actor and film director. Born in the village of Shaghur, he received his secondary education in in Akka. He then studied Arabic literature and acting at Tel Aviv University. He started his acting career in Habima Theatre, Haifa Theater and El-Kasaba theater in Ramallah. After a few years of acting in Israeli and Palestinian movies he began to act in international films in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Canada. Bakri directed two documentaries, one of them is the controversial “Jenin, Jenin,” where he interviewed residents of the Jenin refugee camp after Israeli last attack on Gaza in 2002. The documentary was banned by the Israeli film board.
