Fahmy Omar was born in the village of Al-Raeesa, Nagaa Hammadi, Qena Governorate, on March 6, 1928. He is one of the great broadcasters who established the Egyptian Radio. He obtained his BA of Law in 1949. He submitted at the Egyptian radio tests and was appointed as an announcer in 1950. He was the first commentator of the football league matches in Egypt before the appearance of television. He had the chance to enter the field of acting and he appeared in the movies God Is on Our Side (1955), Miracle from Heaven (1956), and Kahraman (1958).
