Sonya Salama is a Moroccan singer who settled in Egypt for her artistic career. In the mid-eighties, she married the composer Farouk Salama and took his surname as her name. Sonya sang many songs composed by him, as well as many renowned composers. She appeared in many Egyptian films, among which: Girls of Our Alley (1987), The Three Fools (1990) and Spicy Falafel (1993). She then retired from singing and art in general and returned back to her country.
