His older brother was a poet and a member of the Alexandria Music Institute, so he started as a poet and short storyteller, and turned to singing...Read more when he was young. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, English Department. He worked on the Alexandria Radio with the beginning of its broadcast. Medhat Assem discovered him and introduced him to the radio. Mohamed Abdel Wahab gave him the opportunity of his first starring role in the movie The First Love. He also composed many songs for other singers.
