Egyptian director, born in Alexandria on 28 July 1959. He joined the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alexandria, where he was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Department of Theatrical Studies. He then was appointed as a teacher in the Department of Dramatic Studies. He also earned a doctorate in theatrical studies. His beginning in cinema was through the movie Witty Women (1991). His notable film credits include The Truth's Name Is Salim. He also directed many television series such as Opera Aida, Garden City Ladies, and Who Doesn't Love Fatma?.
