Egyptian poet, critic, journalist and novelist, born in Cairo on August 19, 1889. He joined the High School of Teachers to graduate in 1909, after which he worked as a teacher, but he quickly became fed up with the job restrictions, so he decided to work in journalism at first with Al-Akhbar newspaper with Amin Al-Rafi’i, then as an editor in Politics Weekly and many other newspapers. He also translated various poetry from English to Arabic. Among his most important books are: Wildfire Harvest, Catching the Wind, The Box of Life and Spider Webs. He died on August 10, 1949.
