He did not move to Cairo until 1949, when he was thirty-seven years old, after he was strongly influenced by the traditions of the countryside, which explains that most of the characters in his stories come from the depths of the countryside. He's known for A Woman's Youth (1956), Lady Aziza (1961), They Taught Me Love (1957) and A Love Crime (1955). He passed away on December 27, 1970, at age 58.
