The writer Mahmoud El Toukhy was born on March 13, 1945. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Department of English Language, from Ain Shams University in 1965. He worked at the High Dam in Aswan in 1964 and there he participated in the establishment of the Aswan Theatrical Troupe, then joined the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1968, Acting Department. In 1986, and after he traveled to Syria and London, he returned to Cairo and joined the Egyptian National Theater and began to practice writing in theatre, cinema and television as a professional. El Toukhy is best known for writing the series Life of a Modern-Day Husband (2003).
