A Lebanese poet born in Baalbek, Lebanon. He lived most of his life in Egypt and worked there. He worked as editor-in-chief of Al Ahram newspaper for a few years then founded Al Magala Al Masreya magazine, followed by Al Gawaeb Al Masreya newspaper. He translated several books and published an anthology of 4 volumes of his poetry and was given the title Poet of the Two Countries. He's known for The Song of the Heart (1932). He died in Cairo on 1 June 1949.
