He graduated from the High School of Teachers (1917), and continued his higher studies until he obtained his master's...Read more and doctorate degrees in literature and criticism from the Dar al-Ulum, Cairo University. He began his professional life as a teacher until 1954, then worked in the field of electrical engineering, and founded the Misr Chemical Products Company in Alexandria. He devoted himself to writing, and issued a number of books, then worked in film and television directing, and had several documentaries. He died and was buried in Alexandria in 1980. Among his works are the movie Mustafa or the Little Magician, and the documentary film Metro Station in Alexandria (1929).
