A Syrian director, who studied film directing in Czechoslovakia, then obtained a master's degree in directing from the Academy of Arts in Prague. He joined the Artists Syndicate in 1971 and served as the head of the directors' department on Syrian TV for four years. He made his directorial debut in the series The Threshing Floors, and among his most prominent works are The Convict and Summer Snow. He received many awards from festivals in Cairo, Tehran, Tunisia, Riyadh, and Prague.
