He is an American animator, film director, screenwriter, born on November 8, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. He frequently collaborates with fellow director Ron Clements, they first met on The Fox and the Hound (1981), where he was a character animator. He's known for The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997) and Moana (2016).
