For this role, he won a BAFTA for Best Actor, a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama and SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Lead in a Leading Role. His other notable performances have been in "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" (2003), "Cinderella Man" (2005), "Robin Hood" (2010), and the policeman vigilante Javert in the highly anticipated "Les Miserables" (2012).
