Dev Patel is an English actor. He started acting at an early age, earning a best actor award for his role in his middle school's stage production of Twelfth Night. He was also accomplished in martial arts during his teens. He started his acting career when he was cast in the television drama Skins. His film debut was in the box office and critical hit Slumdog Millionaire, a role that earned him a Critic's Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild award, among many others. His other notable film roles include The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Chappie.
