Audra Ann McDonald is an American actress and singer who was born on July 3, 1970 in Berlin, Germany and raised in Fresno, California. After graduating from high school, she studied classical singing at Julliard. She has appeared in numerous musicals, for which she has won multiple Tony Awards. She is known for Beauty and the Beast (2017), Private Practice (2007-2013), A Raisin in the Sun (2008), and The Sound of Music Live! (2013).
