American actor, producer, and director, born on November 28, 1950 in Tenafly, New Jersey. He graduated from high school and enrolled at Columbia University and after watching local theater productions, he began to be drawn to acting. He headed to Oklahoma and enrolled there at the University of Oklahoma, Department of Theater. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. His first appearance was in the series Gibbsville in 1976. He's known for Apollo 13, Pollock, Appaloosa and Westworld. He was nominated for an Academy Awards four times throughout his career.
