An American writer and journalist, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota, where he specialized in psychology and journalism. He wrote the Media Equation column in the New York Times, in which he focused on the interactions of the media with the economy, culture, and government, and he was also writing for the cultural section of the newspaper. Some of his credits include Page One (2011) and War on Whistleblowers: Free Press and the National Security State (2013).
