He received two stars on the Walk of Fame in 1960 for his film and...Read more television work. In 1964, he won the Golden Laurel Award and the NPR Award for the 1963 movie, Cleopatra. In 1965, he won the Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award, the David Award, and the Golden Laurel Award for the movie My Fair Lady (1964). He started his artistic career at the age of 18, when he joined the Liverpool theater. He remained a theater actor until the mid-thirties, when he began appearing in British films. He passed away on June 2, 1990 in New York City, USA.
