An American actress, born in California in 1948. In 1966, she played one of her earliest roles in the series The Farmer's Daughter, after which she went on to star in many titles until she won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie Shy People (1987). She also won an Emmy Award for her role in the series A Killing in a Small Town (1990). Among her notable recent roles was that in the movie Black Swan (2010).
