An Irish-born actor, on October 19, 1940. He joined the National Theater and artistically sponsored by Sir Lawrence Oliver. He appeared in many plays before playing the title role in 1980 in Galileo. After that, he presented King Lear, Othello, Mark Anthony and The Great Gambon.He occupies a great place in English theater Honored by the Queen of Britain in 1998 for his role in theatre. He presented the role of Professor Dumbbell in the episodes of Harry Potter in 2002. He won the Lawrence Oliver Prize for Theater in 1986, for his role in the comedy Acorus of Disappointment and in 1988 he won the same award as best actor in the theatrical show Aveo. He was nominated for a Tony Award in 1997, as the best theater actor, for his role in Skylighter. In 2007, he was nominated for an Irish Times Theater Award for Best Actor.
