She is a British actress, born in Liverpool, England in 1942. She attended Heatherlia and Lassage High Schools, studied writing at Secretarial School, and trained at Elliott Clark School of Acting before working at the Liverpool Theatre. She is best known for The Knack... and How to Get It, A Taste of Honey, and Doctor Zhivago. She received Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards.
