An Iraqi actor and singer, born on April 7, 1909, in Al-Shatrah in the city of Nasiriyah. He started singing when he was 8 years old, and when he came of age, he started accompanying the village singer, Mahboub El Abed, to his concerts and learned from him a lot about the rules of country singing. In the early days of his youth, he moved from Al-Shatrah to the city of Nasiriyah for the purpose of working in the repair of boats, then he worked as a policeman in 1927, but he left his job and traveled to Baghdad in 1936, after which he applied to work in the radio as a singer, in which he succeeded. He recorded his songs on records for large record labels. He released over 137 songs. When the Iraqi TV was established in the fifties, he recorded his songs and concerts for it. In 1978, he returned to Nasiriyah, where he remained until his death on January 31, 1985.
