An American actor, born in New York, United States to an American father and a Canadian mother. His surname comes from the Russian word "Chayka" which means "Seagull.". He graduated from James Madison High School in 1967, and was a founding member of Swampfox Theater. His uncle was director George Bloomfield. He's known for Dances with Wolves (1990) and My Cousin Vinny (1992). He died on July 27, 2010.
