American singer-songwriter and actress born on 22 December 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona, US. In 2007, she competed in the sixth season of American Idol and finished in first place. In the same year, she released her self-titled first album, followed by her second album titled Battlefield in 2009. She has won several awards throughout her career such as AMAs and BET Awards. She has also appeared in several TV series, Broadway productions and films.
