A Canadian-American actor, born on February 4, 1923, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He studied at the Banff School of Fine Arts then served in the Canadian Army during WWII. Bain participated in the series Maude (1972-1978) and Diff'rent Strokes (1978-1986), as well as the film Bananas (1971). Bain was married to Monica Sloan from 1945 until her death in 2009. They had three children together. He died on January 14, 2013, in Livermore, California, from natural causes at the age of 89 .
