An American writer, director and producer, born on June 6, 1955. He is one of the creators of the famous television series The Simpsons. In addition to writing a number of episodes of the series, Simon also played the role of the executive producer before he separated from the family of the series in 1993. He began his career at the age of 23 through the comedy series Taxi. He wrote a number of successful comedy series such as Cheers and The Drew Carey Show. He is also known for his collaboration with American comedian George Carlin. He died on March 8, 2015 of cancer at the age of 59.
