English actress, born in 1967 in Newcastle, England. She was raised in Newcastle and her father was the first Director of the Wordsworth Trust. She moved to study at Oxford University, and began her artistic career in 1994. She is known for The Full Monty (1997), Velvet Goldmine (1998), and The Woodlanders (1997).
