An American actor, born in San Francisco, California, United States. He appeared in more than one hundred and sixty films and television series. He studied at the University of California, Berkeley in the early 1940s before being conscripted into the US Army during World War II. At that time, he was studying pre-med. His credits include Get Shorty (1995) and Godzilla (1998). He died of a heart attack on January 31, 2000.
