An American singer, born in New York, United States to a Sicilian father and a Turkish mother. She graduated from William Howard Taft High School. She also studied at City College and joined a band led by Ken Greengrass. Along with her husband Steve Lawrence, she gained fame by joining Steve Allen's program in 1953, The Tonight Show. She reached the Top Ten in the U.S. with "Blame It on the Bossa Nova" in 1963. Some of her credits include Mermaids, Nobody, and Great Expectations. She died on August 10, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
