He was offered a scholarship to study acting at New York's Juilliard School in 1993, but he turned it down in favor of a role in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp. He got married to Kerri Browitt Caviezel in 1996. He is best known for his role as Christ in the movie The Passion of the Christ. Among his other famous works are: The Count of Monte Cristo and Deja Vu.
