An American screenwriter and novelist, born in Port Huron, Michigan, United States. In 1997, she obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. Terry also attended the Master of Fine Arts program in film at Columbia University. She's known for How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), Disappearing Acts (2000) and Girls Trip (2017).
