A British actor, born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Scottish doctor parents. He attended the University of St Andrews for two years. He became interested in theatrical arts, and left his studies at university before joining the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England. Some of his credits are Patriot Games (1992) and Trainspotting (1996).
