An American actor, director, and writer, born in Willoughby, Ohio, United States, to a father of Irish origin and a mother of Romanian origin. He began his career through the theater, then became famous through his acting in the comedy series McHale's Navy, which aired in the 1960s. After that, he worked on The Carol Burnett Show from 1967 to 1978, and then he worked as a voice actor in animated series, participating in SpongeBob SquarePants.
