An American journalist, sports commentator, TV presenter, and actor, born on July 22, 1940 in Greater Sudbury, Canada into a French-English family. Trebek attended Sudbury High School, then graduated from the University of Ottawa with a philosophy degree in 1961. Eventually he worked at the CBC radio and television divisions. In 1973, he moved to the US, where he worked for NBC, hosting the then new game show, The Wizard of Odds.
