Following Chic's breakup in 1983, Rodgers collaborated with many artists such as David Bowie, INXS, Madonna, and Lady Gaga. Rodgers founded Sumthing Else Music Works record label in 1998, which focused on distributing video game soundtracks. He did the score of films such as Coming to America, Earth Girls Are Easy, and Beverly Hills Cop III.
