A French film editor and director, born in Brig, Switzerland. He graduated from the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques in 1947. Among his most famous works are The Long Absence (1961), Codine (1963), Thibaud (1969), and The Mysterious Island (1973). He died on January 14, 2006, in Menton, France.
