An Iraqi actress, who is best known for her role in the movie The Guard, as her brother Makky El Badry played the leading role in it. She trained for the role, even though she did not know how to read and write. It is noteworthy to mention that The Guard was the first Iraqi film to win a major award, the Silver Tanit, at the 1968 Carthage Festival in Tunisia. It was shown in many countries around the world and is considered a milestone in Iraqi cinema. However, during the fall of the dictatorship and as a result of the organized sabotage process that followed, the original copy of the film was burned among other Iraqi films.
