Egyptian writer born in 1951 in Shubra, Cairo. He graduated with a degree in criticism from the High Institute of Performing Arts in 1975. He held several positions including assistant teacher at the High Institute of Performing Arts in 1981. After finishing his master's degree in 1985, he received a scholarship to study for his PhD in England. He wrote and translated several plays and has been a member of several juries. He wrote several plays including "The Seagulls", "The White Chameleon", and "Language of the Mountains". He died in 2005.
