He is an American actor, born on March 27, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He received a bachelor's degree in English from Dartmouth College in 1991, and he played quarterback for the football team. He is known for his roles in The Finest Hours (2016), Mr. Robinson (2015), and Masters of Sex (2015). He was married to Maggie Lawson.
