A Syrian director and writer, born on December 1, 1974, in Damascus, Syria. She worked as an assistant director in a number of films and television works. She studied English literature, after which she was educated at the Ecole Supérieure de l'Audiovisuel et du Cinéma in Paris. She has written several novels, such as "House of Absence", "The Smell of Death", and "Lulu". Her notable works include The Gate of Sun (2004), Hassiba (2008), and Transit (2014).
