American novelist and short story writer born on 19 August 1988 in New York City, New York, US. She attended Northwestern University, majoring in creative writing. She is famous for writing the Divergent book trilogy, which was adapted into a film trilogy; Divergent (2014), The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015), and Allegiant (2016).
