An American actor who was born in Zanesville, Ohio, USA, on August 31, 1914. He was awarded the NBR Award in 1956,1951 and received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. He had 3 marriages and two children. He died on September 17, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, USA from several strokes. He is known for La Strada (1954), Moby Dick (1956), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964), and Being There (1979). He began his career on Broadway, and after leaving a clear imprint, he moved to Hollywood in 1947. He was acclaimed for the movie He Walked by Night (1948). In the seventies, he turned to television and had his clear mark as well.
