Ellen Drew is an American actress who was born Esther Loretta Ray in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 23, 1915. Eileen Drew received a Star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. Drew had four husbands. Drew is best known for Christmas in July (1940), Isle of the Dead (1945), The Man from Colorado (1948), and Stars in My Crown (1950). Ellen Drew signed a contract with Paramount Company and remained in the shadows for two years, until she rose in many films such as If I Were King(1938), and Buck Benny Rides Again (1940) At the beginning of the fifties, she turned to television work, then hid in the early sixties. She passed away on December 3, 2003 in Palm Desert, California, USA from liver disease.
