An Icelandic director and writer, born in 1984 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Ása Helga Hjörleifsdóttir graduated from the Columbia University Film MFA program. She went on to direct a number of short films, including Ástarsaga, which was her thesis for graduation. She is known for The Swan (2017).
